Obituary of Marian Harris Nottingham

Born in Southampton County, Virginia, to Emma M. and Andrew L. Harris, passed away on Aug. 17, 2016. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Frederick E. Nottingham (1906-1999); one sister, Bessie H. Johnson; and five brothers, Robert Harris, Andrew Harris, James Hurley Harris, Delaware Harris and Henry Harris. Along with one daughter, Gloria E. Nottingham of Richmond, she is survived by two sisters; Mildred H. Jenkins of Victoria and Evelyn H. Price of Richmond; two sisters-in law, Barbara W. Harris of Newport News and Alice A. Hughes of Norfolk; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A Celebration of life will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Newsoms, Virginia, there will be a public viewing at 5 p.m., an Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony at 6 p.m., and at 7 p.m., a funeral with the Rev. Jeremiah Cole officiating and the Rev. Granger Flythe serving as eulogist.
