Joseph Andre "Joe" Schaedel Obituary

  Joseph "Joe" Andre Schaedel died peacefully in his sleep October 21, 2024.


  A native of Hempstead, NY,, he was preceded in death by his parents; his father, Henry and his mother Flora Schaedel, and his sister Margarite Rece. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy and his sons Daryl (Soyoung) and Tyson (Carol) and four grand-children.


  Joe served his country for 26 years in the Navy, serving two tours in vietnam where he received a DFC (Distinguished Flying Cross). After retirement he continued to serve his country with the Southside Lions Club, as a docent at the Military Aviation Museum, and singing in the choir at Nimmo United Methodist Church. He was also an Eagle Scout, serving as a scout master for eight years and conitnued to remain involved beyond. 


  Memorials may be made to Southside Lions Club, music Department, NImmo Methodist Church, or the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, VA.
