Obituary of Jason Meredith
Jason Courtney Meredith, a.k.a J-Dog, one of God’s strongest soldiers, was called home on February 22, 2025. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He was born in East Orange, New Jersey, on November 9, 1966. But if asked today, he would say he’s from Norfolk, which will always be considered his home. Throughout his life he made many connections and significantly impacted the lives he touched. Jason wore many hats on this earth; nothing was ever too big or too small for “Mr. Make it happen.” He was a businessman, motivational speaker, Army Veteran, and band member.
Jason was a product of Norfolk Public Schools – Norview High School; after which, he served in the United States Army. Upon completion of his military service, he attended Norfolk State University where he studied business. Jason was a devoted member of the Spartan Legion Marching Band “Horny Horns” trombone section. Behold the Green and Gold!! He was a born leader and had a passion for music and entrepreneurship. After his time at NSU he started a thriving business selling magazines from coast to coast. He quickly became a top producer, shattering sales records. Aside from his business success, his greatest accomplishment in life was fatherhood.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Meredith.
