Frances Elizabeth Billings (born: Frances Elizabeth Kratochvil) passed away peacefully at 2:55 a.m., on July 22, 2025, at 82 years old.  She was known and will always be remembered for her incredible generosity, her warm and loving heart and for the way she always fought for what was right. 

  Frances lived a purpose-driven life cemented in her career as a Psychologist in New York City. There, she treated her patients with compassion, empathy, and grace. Famous for her willingness to go above and beyond for those she treated, one of the highlights of her career was when a former patient named their first born daughter after her as a way of acknowledging Frances's healing effect on her life.

  After marrying the love of her life, Harold, better and affectionately known as Hal, Frances focused on raising their daughter Ananda, which included crafting elaborate birthdays, Christmas celebrations, Easter egg hunts, and joyous summer vacations with the family in Virginia Beach. Frances devoted her life to her parents, her brothers, her daughter Ananda, Husband Hal and their two dogs, Tasha and Happy. She was a loving daughter whose family focus was easily seen by the way she poured her heart into the food she made, the desserts she crafted, and the clothing and holiday decorations she made from scratch. A talented seamstress, artist, sculptor, baker, cook, and decorator, Frances illuminated every holiday with love and grace.

  She had a special affinity for, and gift with animals. Frances was known to tend to injured wildlife and nurse them back to health when needed, when otherwise they would have perished. Everything Frances did was imbued with affection and the desire to make others happy .

  Frances will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was a light in this world and her shine lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind; her husband Harold "Hal" Billings, their daughter Ananda Billings, and her son-in-law Nick Didenko, and Ananda and Nicks daughter, her granddaughter, Kalista. Frances is predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Frances Kratochvil and her two brothers, Anthony and Joseph Kratochvil.
