Elsie Lindsey, born September 25, 1950, in Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In her final days, she was surrounded by the love and care of her daughter, Carrol, and her grandchildren, who lovingly cared for her in their home. Though she passed in Virginia, Elsie made her home for many years in Sebring, Florida, where her warmth, laughter, and radiant spirit touched countless lives.
Born to the late Jose and America Rivera, Elsie grew up with a vibrant, joyful personality that carried through every stage of her life. She shared a lifelong bond with her sister, Zaida, and held dear the memory of her late brother, Jose Jr. Her family was her greatest treasure her children, Carrol and Richie; grandchildren, Larry, Joseph, Jerel, Aisha, Dajuan, Torie, Kane, and Faith; seventeen great-grandchildren; niece, Angie; great-niece, Felisha; and great- nephew, Steven will all continue to carry her love and legacy forward.
A woman of remarkable creativity and compassion, Elsie was an accomplished painter whose art reflected her bright spirit and love of beauty. She worked as a hairdresser for many years, sharing not just her talent but her kindness, laughter, and friendship with everyone she met. Elsie also gave generously of her time, volunteering at senior living facilities, offering care, warmth, and companionship to others—a testament to her naturally giving heart.
Elsie will be remembered for her bubbly personality, her loving and caring nature, and her ability to make every person she met feel seen and cherished. Her smile could light up a room, and her love will continue to shine through all whose lives she touched. Though she may no longer walk beside us, Elsie’s love, laughter, and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
