Our beloved, Mary Phillips, entered into rest on December 18, 2025 at the age of 72. Mary was born on November 27, 1953, in Lee High, Arkansas to Edward Phillips and Emma Lou Foster. She was educated in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Southside High School. She married at the age of 17 and was a faithful wife for 37 years. From this union with Herbert Reaves, three children were born, Renita, Ramon and Resa Reaves.Mary lived a life defined by resilience, compassion, and unwavering love.
She carried herself with quiet strength and a generous spirit, making everyone feel welcomed and valued. A devoted mother, Mary considered her children and grandchildren her most significant accomplishment. She nurtured, protected, prayed, and sacrificed without hesitation, leaving an indelible imprint on the hearts of her children and grandchildren. Her home was a place of comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love.
Mary was an award-winning Realtor for many years before becoming a co-owner of a family-owned business with multiple store locations. She began serving as a prayer counselor at CBN in 2016 and was quickly promoted to Partner Development Specialist until December 2023. She was awarded the CBN Award for Excellence in 2021. She led the Prayer Center Chapel service on multiple occasions and was committed to serving others faithfully. She lived to uplift and encourage those around her as an ordained minister. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She said yes to the Lord at the Way of the Cross Church COGIC in 1975. She trusted God fully, loved deeply, and walked with grace even through life's challenges and reminded others to keep going, believing, forgiving, and loving others.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Augusta Phillips, Henry and Ira. She is survived by Alice May Swanigan and Remell Minter. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Renita Burns (Rodney), Ramon Reaves, Resa Reaves, and seven grandchildren:
Kameron Reaves, Ramon Reaves Jr., Lawrence Mitchell, Jordan Mitchell, Jaydon Reaves, Kennedy McCarter, Jacob Reaves, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on through the lives she shaped and the values she instilled.
