Walter Arnold Salzman Obituary
Walter Salzman, born on December 14, 1959 in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was 66 years old.
Walt was a lifelong resident of Norfolk. When not supporting both his sons’ athletics endeavors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He found joy and solace in the outdoors or on the sidelines. Whether casting a line or sitting in the tree stand, Walt’s passion for nature was evident to all who knew him. His loyal dog, Draco was often by his side during his adventures, embodying the deep bond Walt shared with his beloved companion.
Walt is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Pamela Salzman, their son Jason and daughter in law Michelle; and his three cherished grandchildren: Genevieve, Roman, and Violet. He also leaves behind his sisters, Cindy Lewis and Ellen Wilson, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Ziegenfuss and Audrey Rieger, as well as his son, Max.
Walt’s legacy lives on through the love he shared with his family and the countless memories created through fishing trips, hunting excursions, and moments spent together on the sidelines cheering on his grandchildren. His presence will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered by those who knew him.
May Walt’s memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing. A celebration of life will be held on March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church located at 8918 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA 23503.
