Irie Foreman, Sr. Obituary

IRIE was a man who lived by the word of Jesus Christ, a loving husband to Novella for 65 years, and a gracious father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather.

There was no other like him. Irie was also a man of few words. He had this peculiar way of observing his surroundings before engaging. However, once he got started it was nearly impossible to shut him down. Irie leaves behind a legacy of hope, love, laughter, and the value of never-ending sacrifices. He instilled in his family the importance of being a provider of your time and resources and to constantly be present for one another.

He wore a big kool-aid smile largely because of his desire and ability to bring tremendous joy to the community by way of assisting with handyman jobs and constructing well-manicured lawns for the community for over 30 years.

Irie was a faithful member of New St. John AME. Where he served Sr. Male Usher Board, and Sons of Allen. Irie, your faith was a beacon of light in all our lives, and we know that you are in a better place dancing with your Queen Novella with no worries and suffering.

Thank you Pop, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa for showing us what it means to be strong, kind, and resilient. Your love will forever be present in our hearts.

Phillippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Psalms 37:3-4 “Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
