Doris Eaton Obituary

Doris Eaton, affectionately known as “Granny” and “Mother Eaton”, gained her wings on April 23, 2026. She was born on January 20, 1932, in East Orange, New Jersey, to the late Donald Grasty and Bertha Jones. Doris was preceded in death by her late husband William Eaton Sr. Her final days were spent surrounded by the love of family whose lives she had touched in countless ways.


Mother Eaton was a pillar of her community. She was deeply passionate about caring for her children, grandchildren, and every child whose life she encountered. Her nurturing spirit and open heart made her a source of comfort and guidance to many.


She was also deeply devoted to her church and found great joy in serving the lord. Her life was a shining example of love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God, known for her warmth and kindness, she was a light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.


Mother Eaton’s journey on this earth was marked by grace, strength, and a steadfast commitment to others. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched, but her legacy of love will live on forever.


Mother Eaton leaves to cherish her memory three loving children: Marcella Eaton (Deborah Wilkerson), Keith Eaton (late Cheryl Eaton) and Denise Walker (Elijah Walker Sr.) She was also preceded in death by four children: William Eaton Jr., Jerome Eaton, Kevin Eaton, and Maurice Eaton.


She also leaves to cherish a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
