Evan Alexander Roderick (Alex)

June 5, 1971 – May 15, 2026

Beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle and Friend.

Alex was preceded in death by his Father Robert Emile Roderick, his Brother Jon Loneman and is survived by his wife Susan Roderick, Daughter Emilianna (Emi) Roderick, Stepsons Brandon Hovatter and Ryan Hovatter, Mother Elsa Roderick, Sisters Nerissa (Nettie) Roderick, Jessica Bert, Bridget Roderick, his Brother Eric Roderick as well as many nieces and nephews.

Born in Newport News, and raised in Hampton, Virginia, where Alex lived most of his life, he forged childhood friendships that grew into lifelong bonds to this day. Alex met the love of his life Susan, moved to Virginia Beach and they were married on July 11, 2020. Alex and Susan spent 11 wonderful years together building a loving life and many memories.

Alex was a production Supervisor at NGK-Locke Inc., he loved his job and his coworkers, with whom he established strong bonds. Alex believed in NGK-Locke, took pride in his work and was committed to the success of the company.

It’s impossible to adequately express the amazing person Alex was and the impact he made on everyone who was fortunate enough to meet him in just a few paragraphs. The world has been dimmed by his passing.

He will be remembered for his valued integrity, smile, infectious personality, unwavering love and dedication to his family, his kind heart, and his passion for the outdoors.

Alex never set out to change the world, but he certainly made an indelible mark on his little corner of it, by the meaningful lasting connections he cultivated with the people closest to him.

Alex will be forever remembered, loved and deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
