Obituary of Matthew Zinnermon
Matthew Anthony “Vet” Zinnermon, 32, was born to the late Juanita Zinnermon and Theodore Cubin, on Monday, Sept. 9, 1985, in Brooklyn NY. He was called to Heaven on Friday, May 25, 2018.
Matthew moved to Cheraw, SC in 1997 where he was raised by his very special aunt, Debra Zinnermon Lynch and his late grandmother Altha Zinnermon.
Matthew graduated from Cheraw High School and joined the US Air Force. He served in the military for 8 years as an Air Traffic Controller. Matthew received several medals, honors, and ribbons to include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, AF Longevity Service, USAF NCO PME Graduate Ribbon and the Meritorious Unit Award with 3 oak clusters, during his years of service.
He loved his job and continued his work as an Air Traffic Controller in Kabul, Afghanistan and most recently for the Federal Aviation Administration. Matthew also loved music and making people laugh. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. Matthew will truly be missed by everyone.
Matthew was united in holy matrimony to Kizzy Smith-Zinnermon on Sept. 10, 2004. He is survived by their three children, Jacobe, Jadon, and Jayla. He is also survived by his brothers Johnny Jeffrey Zinnermon and Robert Livingston; uncles, Dewayne (Butch) Zinnermon, Richard Zinnermon, Raymond Zinnermon, Wilbert (Junior) Zinnermon, uncle in-law, Elvis Lynch, all of Brooklyn NY, a very special cousin, Nikita (Kita) Chantele Zinnerman of Cheraw SC, his best friends, Gary (Money) Campbell, Darrell (Preme) Melton, Michael (Mikey) Young, all of Cheraw SC, and a host of cousins and friends.
