Obituary of Juanita Calhoun Allen

Juanita D. Calhoun-Allen was born August 25, 1940 in Montgomery, Alabama. One of ten children born to the late Aaron J. Calhoun, Sr. and Mary (Foster) Calhoun Brooks.  She was proceeded in death by her husband James Allen, son Lawrence Calhoun, sisters; Jannie Mary Weaver, Maggie C. Williams, Mary B. Williams, Mary Louise Robinson, Elizabeth Brooks Anderson, brothers: Curtis James Brooks, & Aaron J. Calhoun Jr.
Juanita accepted Christ at an early age while living in Montgomery, AL, she took those loving Blessings of our Father to relocate and live in Cleveland, Ohio for over 20 years until her return to Montgomery, AL. in 1980. Juanita was a devoted and dedicated mother she was a determined and truly independent woman who loved God, family, cooking, Bingo and laughing.
Juanita relocated to Virginia Beach, VA in 2010 to improve her health and be close to other family members and friends. She attended Piney Grove Baptist church while living in Virginia Beach and continued to tide through her Free Will Baptist Church family of Montgomery, AL.
Juanita loved her Luther Manor apartment complex, Sentara PACE and the friends she met during her seven years in Virginia. However, she was not able to stay longer due to life challenges that finally caught up with her on November 22, 2017.
Juanita leaves to cherish her memory: two children William Terry Calhoun (Virginia Beach) and Irwin Farley Calhoun (U K England); two Daughter-in-laws Cynthia D. Calhoun (VA Beach), Kelita M. Calhoun (Montgomery Al.) four Granddaughters Tiffany N. Calhoun (Lorton, VA) Brittany D. Calhoun (Alexandria, VA), Danielle N. Calhoun and Gabrielle R. Calhoun (Montgomery Al). Two Brothers; JT Calhoun & James Arthur Brooks of Montgomery Al. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
