Obituary of Calvin Lee Credle
Calvin L. Credle, Sr., a native of Brooklyn, New York and son of Willie Leon Credle and Lessie Harrison Bowe gained his angel wings on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Calvin was a dedicated employee of Virginia Beach City Public Schools until his retirement. He was joined in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Eileen on January 21, 2017.
Calvin was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Harrison and Evelyn Bowe; paternal grandparents, Willie and Margie Credle and a sister, Linda Credle.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Eileen; his son, Calvin Credle, Jr.; his parents, Willie Leon Credle and Lessie Alston (Roger); stepdaughters, whom he loved as his own, Eryka Coleman, Jada Rosas and Kayla Rosas; his siblings, Robert Credle (Melody) and Jeannette Credle-Veal (James) both of Columbus, Ohio; Anthony Carver (Tonia) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Rita Credle-Chapman of Colorado Springs, Colorado; David Credle (Shirvonne) of Norfolk, Virginia; Marcella Alston of Chesapeake, Virginia; and Leah Alonzo.
Calvin fought a long courageous battle with Castleman’s Disease, lupus and renal failure, but he never gave up despite all odds. Calvin’s family members and friends were always fighting for and with him. He touched everyone he encountered in his own way. His sense of humor and comedic talents left a lasting impression on all he met. Calvin loved life and taking care of others, and no amount of pain or weakness could change that.
Calvin was the definition of tenacity, in spite of circumstances he maintained his faith, his humor and love of life and family.
