Joyce Roberts, 93, of Virginia Beach, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, February 3, 2020. She was the daughter of Edwin and Mona Sehman Walter, sister to Lois Nussbaumer and wife of Dean Roberts, all from the greater Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania region. Joyce was the loving and devoted mother of son Gary Roberts, 63 and daughter Sharon Roberts 60 of Virginia Beach, and grandmother of Alyssa Roberts, Sandra Dull and Christin Spute. Joyce will be remembered by all who knew her as a lover of God’s creation through her enjoyment of nature, the appreciation of the changing seasons, passionate support of wildlife preservation, and her cherished feline and canine pets over the years. One of her special interests was genealogy as she traced both sides of her family to her Scottish roots conducting original research with various Western Pennsylvania historical societies. Joyce will be remembered for her vibrant sense of humor and genteel demeanor. She was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk Virginia.
