Rodney W. Ellis Jr. better known as Jamie was born June 26,1984 in Brooklyn, NY, the fifth child of Rodney Sr. and Delores Ellis. Jamie departed this life on May 6, 2020. He was preceded in death by one brother Kyler Gregory Shedrick (Greg) of whom he loved greatly. Jamie attended NYC Public Schools and graduated from Park West High School in 2002. Jamie was a protector, he worked the majority of his adult life in security services. Jamie was a creative and talented child. At an early age he was fascinated with NYC Transit maps and could navigate and provide directions throughout the city at the age of 6. Jamie played the tuba, one of his hidden talents so well that he was encouraged and auditioned for Julliard school of music in NYC. If you knew Jamie, you know how much he loved wrestling. Wrestling was major! He often fantasized of being a professional wrestler and engaged in it at all capacities he could. Jamie also loved food. He would often create or talk about various dishes and food combinations that were restaurant worthy. Jamie was many things to different people. Everyone loved his welcoming smile, friendly spirit and kind heart. Jamie had a soft spot for his nieces and nephews. He loved each one of them thoroughly and the feelings were reciprocal. Jamie was the “favorite uncle” but not just an uncle, he was regarded as a “big brother” to them. He would often relate as they all confided in him for feedback. Jamie leaves to cherish his precious memory: his parents Rodney Sr. and Delores Ellis of Hampton, VA, one brother Macio Shedrick (Joanie) of Copperas Cove, TX; four sisters: Shaneequa Shedrick of Brooklyn, NY, Tamesha Ellis of Hampton, VA, Tasia and Shawnda Ellis of Delaware; three nephews: Anthony Shedrick, Tearel Shy-Shedrick and Prince Ellis; six nieces: Destiny and Rayne Samuels, TraOnna Gamble, Brine’ Ellis, Danasia and Nakyrah Ellis, with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives.
