Obituary of Marie Hickman

North Carolina and is the daughter of the late Willie Elizabeth Felton and Harry Nixon. Marie was affectionately known throughout the Seatack area of Virginia Beach as “Bunch”. She worked as a private housekeeper for 25 years for the Creech family in Virginia Beach. She loved her job and often expressed much joy she felt by taking care of others. Bunch was always smiling and enjoyed having fun and spending time with friends and family. She was the first lady of the Owls Creek Club House for many years after her retirements. She loved God and had a gentle kind spirit. Marie was predeceased by the love of her life of 18 plus years the late Robert Julius Gatlin Left to cherish Marie’s memory are: Three sister, Clara Tanner, Easter Worlds and Addie Felton, all of Chesapeake, VA; four brothers, Ulysses Felton, Harry Felton and Charlie Felton all of Chesapeake, and Milton Felton of Virginia Beach. She will also be missed by a host of loving nieces, nephews and the Creech family whom she helped raise; Elizabeth Lawrence “Laura” Creech, Caroline Creech Decker, and Alfred Taylor Creech.
