Virginia Lee Parker died peacefully on January 22, 2021 in Norfolk, Virginia at the age of 83.
Virginia (Ginny) was born on June 4, 1937 in Newark, New Jersey. She became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in 1956. She graduated from Howard University in 1959 with a degree in Music Education/Piano.
She married the love of her life, Spencer L. Parker in 1966. Virginia spent over 30-years in various roles in Education (public and private) before retiring and moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Virginia is survived by her daughters: Naomi Abel (Iyke) of Illinois and Ruth Anderson (Keelyn) of Virginia. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Spencer, Ashlee, Devine, Alexis, and Abigail along with a host of other family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband Spencer L. Parker, her parents Maurice and Levater Holmes, her sisters Elizabeth Holmes and Sharon Padilla, along with her granddaughter Olivia Davis.
