Obituary of Alessio C. Salsano

Dr. Alessio C. Salsano, doctor of internal medicine, has served the Tidewater community for close to 40 years until he was called home to heaven where our Lord Jesus Christ made him whole again on April 11, 2022. Dr. Alessio “Les” Salsano was born on September 10, 1953, in Newark, N.J. He proudly graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rutgers University in 1975 where he also exclaimed, he finally found “it” to one of his cousins. “It” he proclaimed was God! After several years of quiet dedicated service at various hospitals in the area, he was blessed by God to open his private practice. This allowed him to humbly has served the community and fulfill his calling from God to help others through the gift of healing. The only thing Dr. Salsano was more passionate about than serving as a doctor in the community was serving his Savior. He gave to innumerable Christian charities to help those inside and outside of his community. He truly loved his Lord with all his heart, mind, soul and strength. Dr. Salsano is survived by his wife of 42 years, Doreen Salsano, along with his two daughters, Leah Salsano Lewis and Kristin Salsano, and his grandson Kevin Lewis; his younger sister Roseann Salsano, and her two children Jessica and David Guastella, and his mother Marie Salsano. He is predeceased by his father Frank Salsano. In lieu of flowers well-wisher may honor Dr. Salsano’s memory by donating to a charity dear to their hearts or The Union Mission in Norfolk, VA.
