My deepest condolences goes out to the entire Hirko family. Pam I can’t even imagine the pain you are going through during this difficult time and I want you to know that you are truly in our prayers. Joe was an amazing person,friend, father but most of all a devoted husband. I know that he is resting easy in the arms of God now and I pray that God’s love and peace give some kind of comfort. I was so heartbroken to hear this news. Joe was truly not just a friend but a brother. I have so many found memories of him I would need a book to tell. But I never forget the first home we bought how he look out for us and never batted an eye. There are not many people in this world who would have done that for us. So I will always remember all the good times we had the laugh’s the crying all of it. Please know that whatever you need Pam we are truly here for you.

Joe and I worked together for years; he helped me out on so many occasions when he didn't have to, but he would offer the help anyway. The work Joe so enjoyed was "ALRE ALL DAY" When I couldn't get something done because there wasn't a tool to fit the work Joe would disappear for a while and sure enough, he would have made a specialty tool that worked perfectly. A very happy day for me was when Joe gifted me a key to his toolbox filled with all those Hirko tools, all of which had a fit form and function like no others. Joe; casa de Herko while be forever because of the training and mentoring you gave to all those people you have taken under your wing through the years. And Joe don't worry about flying on the "COD" anymore, you're flying with the Angels.

My fondest memories are when I would stop by the house for whatever reason and knock on the door. I would hear Joe's voice tell me to come in. Without fail, Joe would be sitting in his favorite recliner. It's hard to believe the family's gentle giant has been taken way to soon. RIP Joe. You are truly missed, but never will you be forgotten.

Joe worked with me for 20 + years- we went on work trips together, worked in the shop and ships together, and through this last year worked side by side in the office having coffee together every morning. I recently helped Joe with his retirement paperwork- Joe was beyond happy to be a mere 4 mos away from retiring to Florida after a long work career with VRT. Joe brought many laughs over the years and endured many days of hard work. Joe was a worker and a family man. It's a shame that he wasn't able to enjoy his golden years.
I was looking forward to paying my last condolences to Joe and his family at his viewing. We do wish Pam and Joe's actual family our deepest sympathy and hope that time will bring you peace and that your memories will hold Joe in your hearts forever.
