Obituary of Kayonda I. Watson

On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, one of God’s angels, Kayonda I. Watson, was called to eternal rest.  Kayonda was born to Bettie Watson and the late Grover C. Knight. Kayonda was a lifetime member of the Historic First Baptist Church, Norfolk, Virginia. She began her service to the Lord as a member of the Cherub Choir. She also served with pride on Usher Board #2, and she loved working with toddlers in the "Tot Spot".

Kayonda was a product of Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Lake Taylor Hight School. She was a proud employee of Didlake, Inc. She worked for many years on the Little Creek Base where she received awards and recognition for her outstanding performance. She also worked on the Norfolk Naval Base. Her passion was watching football and she was an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan!!

Left to cherish her memories are her loving mother, Bettie Watson, siblings, Tammie Green, Wanda Watson Brown, Tasha Knight and Rommy Knight Kayonda will also be missed by her aunt Joyce Moore, (Henry), and a host of other family members and friends.

Kayonda will also be missed dearly by her First Baptist Church family whom she loved and affectionally called members “Daddy”, “Dad” “Mom”, “Uncle”, “Auntie”, “Granddaddy”, “Grandma”, “Godbrother”, “Brother”, “Sister, or “Cousin”.
