Obituary of Rudolph Winfield
Rudolph Winfield fondly known as “Rudy” was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born on September 19,1945 to the late Hermione Robinson. Preceding his death are his grandparents Julia and John Winfield, and son Adam Claiboine Sr.
Rudy lived a well-traveled life and embarked on his global adventures at a tender age, joining the Merchant Marines as a Seaman at the age of 16. His maritime journey spanned three decades, during which he explored diverse corners of the world. Rudy held a deep affection for his family and derived immerse joy from being “Papa”to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest frequently expressed, “This world owes me nothing.”
Left to cherish his precious memories are his four daughters, Annette Claboine of Suffolk, VA, Paulette (Tyrone) Lynch of Wilmington, NC, Marva Bonner and Tanika (Genard) Austin both of Norfolk, VA,, three sons, Paul Freeman of Middletown, DE, Antonio and Farentino Bonner of Norfolk, fifthteen granddaughters (Tari and Nikki Lynch, Keisha Lindsey, Chelsea and Alivia Springs, Margo and Stephanie Bonner, Deyana and Destiny Holley, Andrea (Bernard) Harmon, Shanice Causby, Leah and Laila Pennington, Genea Austin, and Shaqueen Claboine, seven grandsons (Tyrone (Jasmine) Lynch, Farentino and Kenmari Tucker, Marcellus Bonner, Markel and Daveyon (Ashley) Atkins, and Adam Claboine Jr., seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Shirley Moses of New York and Georgia “Joyce” Sargent of Alabama, two aunts, Mattie Winston of Norfolk, VA and Rachael (Wilber) Jarvis of Va. Beach, VA, a uncle, George Winfield of Norfolk, VA, one niece and four nephews, and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
