Obituary of Andrew James Eastman

Andrew "Andy" Eastman, 55, born on the island of Guam, passed away on May 8, 2024, in Moyock, NC. Our "gentle giant" was known for his willingness to give anyone a helping hand, his generosity with his time and money, and his warm hugs and big smile. Andy was a beloved member of his family.

Andy is survived by his siblings Scott Eastman, Mark Eastman, Susan Eastman Keel, sisters-in-law Gretchen Eastman, Carol Eastman, and nieces and nephews Shannon Keel, Colin Eastman, Brett Keel, Kevin Eastman. He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Sloane and father Harold Eastman.

In his career, Andy was an Animal Control Caretaker and a decorated Merchant Mariner, holding a 1600-ton Masters License (Captains). He was awarded the Merchant Marine Expeditionary Medal for Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

He and his girlfriend, Jodi, worshipped at Sonlight Church and found solace and community there. Andy's hobbies included church activities, vehicle flipping, playing guitar and drums, music, concerts, carpentry, and caring for his beautiful Moyock farm. He was passionate about his dogs, Charlie, Dixie, and Prada.
