My first memories of my cousin Al are when my grandma and grandpa lived on Larkin Street in Norfolk, Va. Our families were close knit and got together often and that's huge considering my grandparents had 9 children. Even though my dad was in the coast guard and we lived far away from our extended families we still saw each other almost every summer when we were younger even when my family lived in New Jersey. I have found memories of joking and laughing. Al had a way of making everyone around him laugh and I had fun being around him because he was so funny. More recently when my brothers passed away Al oftered support and comfort to me and my family which meant so much to me. He was always welcoming and happy to have people come to his house. He's in heaven laughing and joking around with my brothers and uncle Wayne and with my Aunt Gloria and his beloved granddaughter Tatyana. I love you Al heaven has another angel. Rest peacefully cousin.

I never realized how many of my memories included you. Most of them were absolutely ridiculous. Arguments about BET and why WINGS was lame and not as funny as you’d like to have believed. I’ll miss you forever.

Known as "Little Al" to my brothers, sister, and I, Al at 8 months is in his mother Gloria's arms in the picture of the Manoso Family at the family home on Larkin Street, Norfolk, VA, in November 1964. Aunt Gloria and Al are in the second row on the left. Theresa, Debbie, and Angel are in there too. The youngest of four and the only boy, Al always hung out with Uncle Wayne, my brothers, and I whenever we got together at Larkin Street. Uncle Wayne, 8 years old in this picture and 6 months older than me, was also the youngest in a family of mostly girls (7), but he had an older brother, my Dad, who was 23 years old when Wayne was born. Outnumbered by girls, Daddy said us guys should always stick together and so we did. Since Daddy was in the Army we moved around a lot, but we always tried to make it home to Larkin Street whenever possible. Aunt Gloria and her family including Al were always there to greet us. In this picture we had just returned home from 2-1/2 years in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Farewell cousin. You will be missed. Say hello to Granddaddy and my Daddy when you see them. I will see you all again. Your cousin, Pete
