Obituary of Carol Ann Piper
Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carol Ann Piper, 77, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 15, 2021. Carol was kind, thoughtful, and gracious to all who crossed her path. She never met a stranger!
Carol was a native of Michigan, born on December 14, 1943, to the late Arthur and Margaret Dronzkowski. She graduated from St. Anthony’s High School along with her siblings and many friends who she remained close to throughout her life. Carol went on to marry the late Lawrence Leon Piper, and the family moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1978, where she remained until her passing.
Left cherishing her memory are her loving children, Keith Lawrence Piper and his wife Kimberly, and Jennifer Ann Piper, and her adoring grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, and Korinne. Carol also leaves two sisters, Mary Zebula and her husband Dan, and Barbara Roth, as well as sisters-in-law: Mary Dronzkowski, Patricia Drake, Carol Piper, and Kathy Gallagher and her husband Jim. She will also be missed by a host of loving nieces and nephews, and her special lifetime friend Barbara Straub.
Carol is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Larry, and her three brothers, Robert Drake, James Dronzkowski (and wives Marge and Penny), and Gerald Dronzkowski.
Carol’s enthusiasm for life was evident in all she did, and being Grandma to Kyle, Katie, and Korinne brought her immense joy. Throughout the years, she enjoyed bowling, needlepoint, painting, puzzles, Bible studies, playing cards, and having lunch with friends and family. She was a wonderful cook, and participated in many activities at Sullivan House, her residence for the last eight years. Being a member of the Card Club at Sullivan House was a blessing to many.
Carol brightened any room she entered, and the world was a more beautiful place with her in it. She will always be remembered for her love, laughter, encouraging words, and her beauty inside and out. Her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ sustained her through life’s ups and downs. It gives her family great comfort to know she is in Heaven with her beloved Larry, and so many others who have gone before her.
A celebration of life will be held at Coastal Community Church, in Virginia Beach, Virginia on April 24th at 11:00 a.m. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend. Interment will follow during the summer at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
